Working Families Party Losing More Democratic Support on Healthcare Fiasco
New York, NY-July 24...New York State's high-spending Working Families Party, which yesterday launched a political attack on five New York Democrats for not supporting President Obama and Nancy Pelosi's ill-conceived nationalized healthcare legislation, today announced that yet another New York Democrat has walked away from the legislative boondoggle, according to fiscal reform organization New Yorkers for Growth, which obtained a copy of the Working Families Party (WFP) email.

The "bad news" announced in the WFP (Working Families Party or Wacky Fiscal Policy?) read:

"The bad news is that another Democrat, Rep. Michael Arcuri (Central NY), is backpedaling on healthcare reform too - telling a newspaper he doesn't want to tax the rich to pay for expanding coverage to tens of millions of Americans in need."

As with yesterdays WFP email missive, today's attack on a sixth Democrat was signed by WFP executive director Dan Cantor. The other five Democrats under attack by the WFP are: Reps. Scott Murphy, Nita Lowey, Mike McMahon, Eric Massa, and Dan Maffei.

"The Working Families Party is quickly losing credibility in New York over the ill-fated healthcare bill," said New Yorkers for Growth Board Member, Larchmont Mayor Liz Feld. "By pushing bad policy down the throats of Members, they are showing that their interests are not necessarily aligned with nation's interests. This healthcare bill would add trillions in debt and ever-higher taxes to a nation struggling to get back on its feet economically. The WFP should be ashamed for trying to rush such a boondoggle through."
