8/16/2009 — "Thank You for making this site available. It will help as we look for viable candidates for the coming elections." Nesonset, NY

8/16/2009 — "cut taxes, teacher and police unions are cause of very, very high real estate and nys income taxes" Lindenhurst, NY

7/27/2009 — "I'm tired of paying out and receiving nothing in return from government. Lets end the good ole boy mentality that most politicians seem to develop.!!"

7/26/2009 — "My family has a new winery and Vineyard in the Finger Lakes Region. Your increase in Excise tax and overall property taxes is likely to put us and those like us out of business and there for increase out of state wine sales. Making the tax increase retroactive was a real blow. Wine has to be aged and therefore to make it apply to all wine on the premises was double jeopardy. Wineries in NY are one of very few growing businesses. What are you thinking? I look around at local farmers like us and can't help but notice that they are forced to drive very old cars, are unable to make normal repairs to their homes and properties. Children are forced to leave the state to find employment. Wake up or soon Albany politicians will only have themselves to tax!"

7/25/2009 — "These people must go, we here in Western New York are sick and tired of our tax dollars and resources (NYS Power Authority) going to NYC in order to keep that city going."

7/24/2009 — "You have already destroyed our small family winery by allowing the wine excise tax to go up and BE RETROACTIVE! Any fool knows you have to age wine, this has helped only the California and international wines. Don't do anything else to me. I am seriously looking at moving out of state as I did 25 years ago. It is worse than when I lived here then, GET WITH THE PEOPLE THAT PAY YOUR SALARIES!"

7/24/2009 — "Please help save the few jobs that are still in this state. Thank you!"

7/23/2009 — "STOP WASTING MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON YOUR STUPID PROGRAMS!!!"

7/19/2009 — "We have to stop the out migration and the only way to do that is lower the cost of government. It's as simple as that."

7/17/2009 — "Stop the insanity with the TAX & Spend!"

7/16/2009 — "Although I have lived in NY for most of my life, I feel that it is time for me to leave. Unfortunately, not too many people are willing to buy houses in NY so I have not been able to go. I hope this changes soon because I can no longer tolerate the fraud in this state."

7/14/2009 — "At some point New York State must begin to "live" within its means, just like WE THE PEOPLE have to. Increasing taxes will drive people and businesses out of the state."

7/10/2009 — 'How does Oregon manage without sales taxes and yet, their property taxes are only half of NY? Something is seriously wrong here. I just have no idea. Could someone enlighten me?"

7/9/2009 — "Broad based personal income and business tax reductions are the only means to a true turn-around for NYS. The days of carve-outs, special programs, nickel-and-dime fees and "progressive" taxes must end."

7/7/2009 — "We still have the reputation as the highest taxed state in the United States...."

7/6/2009 — "Take a hint from the public, when you make less you spend less, pretty basic. No New Taxes, Spend Less." 7/4/2009 — "This insanity has got to stop!!!"

6/25/2009 — "We need new blood in Albany! I'm fed up with the entrenched group that acts like they own their positions."

6/23/2009 — "My second e-mail about the income tax increase. If you raise my taxes, I will lose my home. My sixteen year old son, his dog and myself will be out on the street, thus not paying income taxes. Hello, are you thinking or what. If people don't own homes, how in the hell can they pay taxes."

6/20/2009 — "New Yorkers Need Tax relief all across the board! If Massachusetts can do it, and Florida can operate their state without School Taxes, that shows NY is paying WAY TOO MUCH in taxes... 70% ABOVE the National Average. It's time for BIG CHANGES in Albany!"

6/8/2009 — "Stop the crazy increases in property taxes or goodbye nys!!!"

6/6/2009 — "Why do government officials in NY and across the country get tax increases when many New York Residents and US citizens lose there jobs or take paycuts."

6/12/2009 — "Enough is enough. I will lose my home and of course, not be able to pay taxes if New York State does not stop this foolishness. I am a single parent and just making it by. My husband had a major heart attack and died 7 years ago. I work my butt off and that takes time away from my child. If they raise taxes again, myself and my child will go without groceries. Governor Patterson needs to do something or else New York will go bankrupt. Someone needs to do something. I guess I will just go hungry, with no phone and oh, by the way, my son has had three major surgeries for his appendix because his home town hospital, which has major departments closing down, screwed up with the first surgery. He almost failed 10th grade, wonder why his test scores are so low, come on, somebody make a decision and save Franklin County, New York, which is the very upstate New York you can get, 10 minutes from Canadian border, 5 if you drive fast. The people in Albany are killing us."

6/2/2009 — "My husband and I are seriously considering moving out of NY state very soon. We can not afford to live here any longer!"

6/1/2009 — "This is a rogue administration. We must stop them from nationalizing healthcare and silencing talk radio, and stealing our private property, and dictating to us what type of cars we can drive, and light bulbs we can use."

5/29/2009 — "My son graduated from Clarkso University last year and promptly left the state. My daughter is forming plans to leave the state. When I retire in 5 years guess what state I won't be living in?"

5/26/2009 — "I might vote with my feet. These drones in Albany are either dense or indifferent. I think it is the latter."

5/26/2009 — "If Albany does not make the State of New York more desirable, then there will not be anyone left in NYS to tax...everyone will have left!"

5/26/2009 — "enough is enough"

5/26/2009 — "I am a one income family of 5 trying to scrape bye in these tough times as it is I can't afford anymore taxes."

5/20/2009 — "enough with raising taxes!!!! Your killing us!!!"

5/20/2009 — "we are not cash cows, treat us as you would treat yourself-respect, save the WORKING NEWYORKERS/VOTERS."

5/21/2009 — "Increasing taxes will drive businesses & people out of NY. That is not a smart solution. NY has done this many times in the past and it did not work and it will not work now. Increasing taxes on the people left in NY to make up for those that have left is equal to a punishment for not leaving NY. Once those businesses and people are gone they won't come back. Once the number of businesses have been shrunk the population follows and it appears government is going in the opposite direction. At one point there will not be enough people left in NY to support the government of NYS. I personally want to start a business but because of high NYS taxes I am going to wait till we move to a state where success is not penalized by high taxes."

5/19/2009 — "Lets eliminate the jobs of all those who voted for a tax increase, and their pensions and their benefits and then we can start putting a sound financial footing in the state."

5/18/2009 — "I did not serve a total of 30 years in the US Navy to be bled to death by taxes at the Fed., State and local level"

5/6/2009 — "It seems that the great state of New York doesn't care about the industrialization anymore. They can't wait to chase the rest of them out. What is wrong with your brains in Albany?"

5/5/2009 — "Do not raise personal income taxes in New York State or in the USA."

5/5/2009 — "stop spending indiscriminately"

5/4/2009 — "no more taxes please it is hard to live and run a business in this state. It is time to audit state spending and penalize for waste. If US business is forced to be lean to compete with the global economy because our governments thirst for wasting money. Then it is time the people force the government to be lean and help us compete with lower taxes. Remember the government cannot create wealth!"

5/2/2009 — "I only make 50,000 per year. Please tax those who make less. Yes less. If you tax the crap out of them they will work more to move up to a lower tax bracket."

5/2/2009 — "It's time, way past time for NY to stop having such a high tax bracket, and certainly this is NO time to raise taxes! I think that part of the qualifications for anyone to run for office in this state should be a promise to balance the budget in NY and a pledge to lower, not raise taxes!"

4/30/2009 — "I pay no NYS income tax so any increase will not directly affect me. However, I recognize the negative effects any tax increase has on the economy of the State, and the fact that any tax increase, whether on the so-called wealthy, the dairy farmer, the factory owner or worker, distributes its burden to all members of the society. This tax increase, like every tax increase, will negatively impact every New Yorker."

4/30/2009 — "No Increase in Taxes! Cut Spending! Make NY a viable place to live and do business!"

4/27/2009 — "A progressive income tax is unjust, equal to stealing, and will hurt New Yorkers of every income."

4/26/2009 — "we are the worst run state in the union"

4/21/2009 — "No New Taxes and repeal unfair taxes on the working residents of NY state."

4/19/2009 — "I have read your candidate requirement statement and totally agree. I have campaigned on those same issues when seeking office at both the State and local levels."

4/16/2009 — "NYS has become the most expensive state to live in. I do not think that I can afford to retire here. I was born in this state and have lived most of my life here and I love this state. It's time that our politicians looked at decreasing spending instead of always increasing taxes. If I need to be a responsible spender then so should they. TEA - taxed enough already!!"

4/16/2009 — "I am unemployed 60 yrs old and will have to sell my house and move if this doesn't STOP"

4/10/2009 — "We pay the highest taxes in the nation. We are being strangled by our government. Can't you have a pay cut? Can you try to manage the $ being spent in Albany? We the people can no longer put up with outrageous government spending. No More Tax increase, you will force people like me to leave the state."

4/8/2009 — "I am sick and tired of this state taking more and more money out of my wallet. How can 3 men behind closed doors call the shots. What kind of government is running this state. None of these politicians are listening. My father was right years ago, make New York City a state of their own, so that we living in Western New York can keep the money here. As far as welfare welcome to the Las Vegas of the East. How can we just sit and watch while generation after generation continues to rake in the benefits sitting on their #*":" and not even trying to look for work. Why look for work you're getting paid for doing nothing. I can understand getting assistance when you are down and out, but lets put a time line on how long you can receive public assistance. And lets not allow what is the norm...other states giving people one way bus tickets to NYS so they can get on the band wagon. I guess I said enough, my blood pressure just rose like the taxes in this state. Hooray for the tea parties I guess it is a start."

4/6/2009 — "If the NY government does not STOP! this unbelievable taxation towards their residents,NY will lose in the END. We as a family of 7 will move and so will ALOT more future residents (our children are already looking for colleges and jobs AND HOMES in other STATES! Be careful NY be really careful. Its a SAD time in our economy to heave this burden on the under~served!"

4/4/2009 — "Please STOP increasing our taxes while simultaneously decreasing our earnings! My two-income household can barely make ends meet. Our property taxes are already among the highest in the country; the income disparity among New Yorkers is terrible!"

4/2/2009 — "When will all civil servants in ny start paying for their health benefits?"

4/1/2009 — "The 9% increase in spending is unconceivable under the present conditions. Even worse, Albany will not have the fortitude to cut the 9,000 public service jobs threatened."

4/1/2009 — "STOP THE NEW TAXES"

4/1/2009 — "NYS is fast becoming a place to be from!!!!"

4/1/2009 — "We are being killed by taxes- I love NY but have to think about moving to another state with lower taxes. I'm 67 & born in NY- Do any of out elected officials care? I think not." Albany, NY

4/1/2009 — "I am opposed to any tax increase & any reduction in the Stars Program. Also opposed to any increase in public assistance benefits." Troy, NY

3/31/2009 — "I have a suggestion, this new budget is disgusting. A 9.2 percent increase in spending while the state and nation are collapsing, these politicians are living in an alternate reality. They need 38 senators for a quorum. Currently the senate is in disarray. There must be some means of pressuring the weak kneed republicans to not show up."

3/31/2009 — "Please stop the nonsense with this new budget. You are going to kill off every last small business in the state."
