NY's Leading Fiscally Conservative PAC Pledges Money and Support in Targeted State Senate Races

NEW YORK, NY-September 23...New Yorkers for Growth, the political action committee dedicated to bringing responsible fiscal policies back to New York State government, today announced its slate of endorsed state senate candidates for the 2010 election. Senate challengers Bob Cohen, Jack Quinn, Patricia Ritchie, Andrew Russo and Lee Zeldin have been chosen as the preferred candidates who will help return New York State to firm fiscal footing. New Yorkers for Growth will provide endorsed candidates with financial and political support.

"New York families and small businesses can no longer afford to pay the price for irresponsible fiscal policy in Albany," said Liz Feld, New Yorkers for Growth spokesperson and the former mayor of Larchmont, NY. "We need to begin electing fiscally responsible candidates - of either Party - who will advocate spending restraint and pro-growth business policies. New York State can turn itself around, but we need to begin electing candidates with the guts and foresight to do what's necessary to achieve that. New Yorkers for Growth is confident that these candidates have what it takes to help move this state in the right direction."

New Yorkers for Growth targeted the following races based on the candidate's commitment to fiscal responsibility: Bob Cohen, candidate in the 37th senate district against incumbent Suzi Oppenheimer; Jack Quinn, candidate in the 58th senate district against Democratic challenger Tim Kennedy and incumbent Bill Stachowski on the Independent line; Patricia Ritchie, candidate in the 48th senate district against incumbent Darrel Aubertine; Andrew Russo, candidate in the 49th senate district against incumbent Dave Valesky, and Lee Zeldin, candidate in the 3rd senate district against incumbent Brian Foley. Further endorsements may be forthcoming in senate and assembly legislative races.
