New Yorkers for Growth Announces "W. F. P.= O-U-T Out!" Campaign
"'W. F. P.' Identifies Candidates to Remove from Office"
New York, NY - August 17. . .Candidates for public office running on New York's Working Families Party line (WFP) are now indelibly tagged as advocates for higher taxes, higher spending, and higher debt in New York State, fiscal reform group New Yorkers for Growth today charged. New Yorkers for Growth made its remarks in announcing a multi-channel guerilla marketing campaign called "W. F. P. = O. U. T. - Out!", which the group will roll out to New Yorkers between now and November 2nd, Election Day. The campaign will include web videos, social networking, and paid media.
"Forget the complicated new voting booths; if you want to know who to remove from office this November, just find the candidates with W. F. P., after their names and vote for the opponent," said New Yorkers for Growth spokesman, former Larchmont Mayor Liz Feld. "The WFP works to increase spending and taxes in New York every single year - even in this fiscal crisis - and its policies are driving New York State into insolvency. Anyone running on the WFP line is part of the problem -- period. If we are to lower taxes, reduce spending, and create jobs in New York, we need to get rid of anyone in office running on the WFP Line. It's that simple."
The WFP, which is closely associated with the radical group ACORN, is a collection of unions and special interest organizations that oppose virtually all efforts of fiscal reform in state and local government. The WFP advocates higher state spending, dramatically higher taxes, borrowing, and more expensive union contracts, despite New York's deteriorating fiscal picture. The WFP is currently under investigation by the United States Attorney for allegations of Election Law fraud, among other things. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo refused to accept the W.F. P. endorsement.
The cost of the "W. F. P. = O. U. T. Out!" campaign is undisclosed.
